Fan Expo: God of War III Demo Hands-on

By Paul Hunter

This past weekend at the Fan Expo I got my hands on the God of War III demo and sunk a good amount of time into the game. I wrote an impression piece over on the Future Shop Tech Blog if you're curious.

From the article:

"Graphically, God of War III is like a classic Greek painting brought to life. Maybe the best next gen visuals I have ever seen. It's a gritty, gory experience from the minute you descend upon Mt. Olympus and unleash the first swing of your trademark Blades of Athena. I played the demo at 1080p HD resolution on a 70" flat screen television which magnified the crisp graphics to such scale that it was hard to not just sit back and watch the game."

This article appears on the Future Shop Tech Blog where I contribute three times weekly.

We have no Greek or even Roman art in existence, so your comparison to it looking like Greek art sounds unfortunately quote ignorant.

By art I mean paintings... (preparing for flames)

the ignorant one said " quote " instead of " quite "

@Josh, Actually you are quite wrong we do have painted art from that period, although in the form of frescos on walls. Pompeii has some amazing Roman painted art, as do quite a few temples in Greece.

There is also painted art on pottery. So in fact you come off a little ignorant, plus a little like a douche trying to find fault with the article.

Classic Greek painting? LOL Even the laws of perspective weren't "invented" back then. I guess you meant renaissance painting.

Josh: Your comments are like your art at school. Instantly forgetable.

What a strange comment m8. We all know what he meant. Maybe he could re word it for the idiots to say If there was any classic greek painting in existence, then this is how I imagine it would look if it came to life.
I being silly now right ?:)

Unfortunately Josh, in the majority of the cases only those that are unaware of their own condition will call other "ignorant".

As they say "ignorance is bliss", so we forgive you. Just as long as you make an effort to increase your self awareness.

the banter here is quite amusing, but a delight to read. I like your last statement fllyZr4...lol

Thanks to the second Anonymous poster for noting the ancient Greeks did in fact produce paintings. There are many known wall paintings on Greek structures, as well as panel paintings and vase paintings.

Quit bitching about Greek art, no one gives a shit. The game looks beautiful and thats all that matters. Thanks for the update Paul, everyone here is jealous of you.
