Demo: Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution

I'm a big Civilization fan, in fact I'm a big fan of most of the Sid Meier's Game library. Needless to say I was excited at the download demo, now available on the XBox Live Marketplace, for Civilization Revolution.

If your used to the keyboard shortcuts, your out of luck this time but you won't be disappointed. The jump from the PC to the console was actually much better for Civilization then it was for the Railroad Tycoon franchise (Playstation) offering intuitive controls and easy to use features for fortifying units, grouping units to form an army, and map movements.

My only negative about this transition is the Simlish (No, I'm not making it up) that each of your advisers speaks to you in... After using the voice of Leonard Nimoy in Civilization IV I would have like the trend to carry forward. Voice acting is such an important part of video games now, and relying on Simlish gibberish for your games gets old fast. There are truly not that many different characters that a few good voice actors pould have really made a difference.

Still, I'll be out at the local EB looking to pick this up on or around release day.
