Ask Me Questions: LittleBigPlanet & SOCOM Betas

I did it. I have a key. Or should I say keys plural.

September has been a really awesome month for me. Not only did I get my hands on a SOCOM: Confrontation beta key, but just today I managed to get my eager hands on a LittleBigPlanet beta. I just finished downloaded the beta, and will be firing up the game for the first time in mere minutes.

If you have any questions regarding either betas please drop a message here. I'll do my best to answer each and every question you may have.

I'm so excited, weee!

[Thanks Jon for the keys - you rock!]

Ok, sorry for asking, lol.
Now my question is, can you take in-game screen shots and save them to the PS3's HDD?

How much space do the level take on your hard drive. I'm talking about the levels you create....

Is it possible to save clips on youtube just like some other games?

I have only been given one beta key for SOCOM and one for LittleBigPlanet; however, if I do happen to get my hands on more beta keys I'll make an annoucement on the website.

The SOCOM beta is currently at Version 1.40 and does not offer split screen on/offline. Slant Six Games has referred to SOCOM: Confrontation as a strictly 'online multiplayer game' and most likely will not support offline play of any kind. There are seven maps total in the game, five are for 32 players and the other two are for only 16. Online play will not support bots.

In the LittleBigPlanet beta, features and in-game item get unlocked as you progress through the game. I'm currently on level 4 and there has been no mention of the ability to screen capture and save the image to your HDD. On the positive side, a source has told CVG that Sony plans on introducing the ability to capture in-game images with PS3 firmware update 2.5. The latest rumour is 2.5 will be released around the same time as LBP.

According to the Mm developer on the Sony forums going by the name of Sam_Protagonist, LittleBigPlanet will not feature YouTube support at launch, but hints that it may be a feature in the game later on. I can confirm from playing the beta that no YouTube support exists.

Here's a link to the Playstation forum post:

Regarding the file size of a created game, I'll post an update later in the week. I've been too busy playing vs. creating... :/
