Happy Canada Day, Canada!

By Paul Hunter

Happy maple syrup day everyone!

Being Canada's Premier Gaming Blog and all, I thought it was only appropriate that I take a few minutes to spread that Canadian love from coast-to-coast. Our great country is officially 142 years old or roughly 4.8 times my age.

I see no better combination in this world than to be Canadian and a gamer. So for all of those joystick-wielding canucks out there - thanks for making NextGen Player the premier destination for Canadian gaming news. Our goal has been, and always will be, to share our exciting Canadian gaming stories with the rest of the world.

Here's to another year of exciting game reveals, console price reductions, and of course hardcore, prolific gaming. Who says Canada lacks identity? Clearly we're the most loyal and passionate bunch of gamers on this planet. It must be all that maple syrup powering our brains and fueling our thumbs.

Happy Canada Day NextGen Player! Thanks for providing us with great updates.

By the way, have you heard about the PS3 slim coming out this month? Crazy!

Looking forward to seeing more Canadian game industry news too!

Hey VancityAllie!!

Thanks for great feedback, we're glad you enjoy the site. :)

I have seen the rumours about a new PS3 Slim model and the evidence seems to be growing. In fact there have been a lot of retail stores selling PS3s bundled with some great games which makes you wonder if they're trying to clear out of the 80GB models. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Slim model as the PS3 needs to start building momentum.

Keep you eyes peeled for more Canadian game industry news - that's our specialty!
