Funcom Opens New Studio in Montreal

By Paul Hunter

Today Funcom announced the establishment of a new games studio in Montreal. This announcement comes on the heels of other big Canadian investment news such as Ubisoft Toronto and EA Waterloo.

I wrote an article on the Future Shop Tech Blog on this exciting news.

From the article:

"The large, multinational developer said they intend on hiring from the talented pool of professionals in the region, as well as moving over an unspecified number of key personnel to the new studio. Touting their multicultural workforce, Funcom mentioned that in addition to their Oslo, Norway headquaters, the company also has studios in the US, China and Switzerland. At present, the company employs 320 gaming professionals; a number expected to rise with today's announcement."
