The 5th Annual Vortex Competition is set to kick-off on November 3rd where participants will have a chance to enter Boot Camp for a one-day intensive educational day where they will learn how to successfully bring a video game to market. This year's event will be taking place in Toronto, Ontario.
Registration to Boot Camp and the main Vortex Competition has recently been extended to October 23rd. Getting into both costs $100, and the Boot Camp-only costs $75.
I recently wrote a full run-down on this year's competition on the Future Shop Tech Blog. From the article:
"The Vortex Competition is Canada's preeminent forum for emerging video game designers and developers, where aspiring entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to meet experienced industry leaders, decision makers, financial advisors and mentors in a rich learning environment. The three-day competition, taking place in Toronto from November 3-5, is put on by the McLuhan International Festival of the Future, an organization dedicated to educating, edifying, and entertaining people about media and technology."
