Cowabunga dude! To celebrate the launch of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed, Outright Games sent over the incredible Collector's Edition that's jam-packed with goodies. Let's explore what came inside the box!
Before we dive into the contents, the box itself is awesome featuring all four of the Ninja Turtles—Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael—doing their signature poses. Green ooze is spilling all over the box, which is a cool effect. I also love the urban purple brick wall with graffiti to give that iconic NYC flavour.
Inside the Mutants Unleashed Collector's Edition is goodie after goodie, I'm stunned at just how much they backed into the box. For starters, there's a Pizza Van statue that's a cool yellow colour with a giant pizza on top. There's also four patches, one for each Ninja Turtle, perfect for putting on a school backpack.
You also get five high-quality pin badges, four of them being the names of the Ninja Turtles and a fifth saying "Defenders of NYC". Neat!
Digging a little deeper into the box you'll find a silky smooth Mouse Mat featuring images of Ninja Turtle faces, and the 'Mewbies', a.k.a. the new mutants that spawned from spilled mutagenic ooze. There are also 12 stickers featuring Mewbies, Splinter and the Ninja Turtles.
You also get Notebook, Artbook and an ooze Pen. The Notebook has beautiful graffiti art on the cover and has a ton of pages that you can take notes on. The artbook is quite impressive, featuring dozens of pages of concept art and detailed pages on all the new Mewbies. Then there's the ooze pen, which lights up when you press a button and has ooze floating in liquid at the top. Very cool!
Last but certainly not least are two major highlights of the collector's edition. Firstly, you get an amazing poster that reads "Mutants Unleashed" and has the Ninja Turtles surrounding by menacing purple Mewbies. Then there's perhaps the showcase item of the entire bundle: A light-up pizza sign dripping cheese and has the acronym TMNT at the top. The light was much brighter than expected and can light up an entire room.
