Back in August we learned that Cineplex would be offering theatre rentals during "downtime" for big-screen Xbox 360 gaming parties. This initiative, similar to the one already offered for years at the Imax Theatre Winnipeg, lets gamers reserve the 50' screens for up to 2 hours of game time.
Cineplex has now launched a gaming rental section on their website that provides more details on their offering. The most interesting new information the site provides is a complete list of Cineplex theatres that are available for rental. To view the list of theatres available, check out the rental Price Calculator. Under step 1 you select your location, and then step 2 shows you a list of theatres
Some other interesting additional information I discovered includes:
- you have the option of renting out a 2nd auditorium for system-link game play
- they are offering discounted concession snacks (30% off selected items)
- to reserve a theatre you need to pay a $50 deposit. The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel within 24 hours of your reserved time
