NextGen Player Exclusive: 8 Minutes of WET Gameplay

While the publishing fate of WET (360/PS3) remains in limbo, developer A2M from Montreal is still proceeding with their hot gun-totting action game WET.

The game tells the story of Rubi, an acrobatic, sword-wielding gun-for-hire who agrees to help a wealthy man find and bring back his wayward son. Soon enough all hell breaks loose and the tables are turned, as the man who hired her isn't who he appeared to be. Now Rubi's on the run, needing to find the man who left her for dead and leaving a massive body count in her wake.

A2M Senior Artistic Technical Director, David Lightbown, presented an exclusive 8 minute video of WET gameplay at MIGS 2008 and NextGen Player was given special permission to record the clip.

After watching the video I think you'll agree with me that Activision may have made a poor choice dropping this game. This game looks hot.

If you have to do that blue slow down time thing every time you jump and shoot things will get mighty boring mighty fast. Other than that it could be cool.

The game looks repetitive, like that stranglehold, no one will miss it...

i'd burn that for 360 if it comes out :)

SO many elements taken straight off from Tomb Raider, and the fighting looks really repetitive...as it was already said: if that blue, slow down screen appears every time you shoot..I would get REALLY annoyed by that. And the graphics cannot be even compared to the latest games on PS3...I doubt it would be any big success if it would come out.

I think what makes this game different is the agility. The ability to climb, slide down ropes and ladders, flip around poles, run up walls...all things you don't get from other shooter games like this. Typically you're just running around a room killing guys as they pour in. This game seems like you're hunting them down in a very open environment and I like that. Game seems cool and the chick seems hot. I'll buy.

I'll take RUbi running up walls and flipping around with guns and swords over Lara making a mild leap any day!

There are not enough games with guns and acrobatics like this. Looks like what the Matrix games should have been!
