Pure Pwnage Morphs Into a Real TV Show

By Paul Hunter

The teasing is over. Toronto-based Pure Pwnage made a huge announcement on their website this past Thursday that the reality mockumentary series is becoming a real tv show. Airing in 2010 on Showcase, the first televised season will feature 8 episodes.

With so few episodes it sounds to me like a experimental pilot project to test viewer response. Given that Pure Pwnage has a strong Canadian (and international) following, at least they already have a hungry audience looking to eat-up whatever socially-awkward situations Jeremy gets himself into.

Nice to see a Canadian gaming webisode series getting picked up by a major network. I'll put in a word to Pure Pwnage to see if they'll be continuing where the series left-off or it'll be a brand new storyline.
