This past May we sent one of our veteran writers, Clinton Ma, to attend the inaugural GDC Canada. The event took place in Vancounver, from May 12-13. In case you haven't seen his two write-ups, have a look-see here and here.
On the official GDC Canada website they've announced the dates for next year's event will be May 6-7, 2010. The industry conference will once again be held in Vancouver, B.C. and will be held at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Center.
A write-up on Gamasutra notes that the first ever GDC Canada brought in more than 800 attendees -- representing a doubling in attendance over last year's Vancouver International Game Summit.
It's great to see the such rapid growth with the event, and with the GDC name now associated to it, I expect next year's conference to be even bigger.

So excited! Do you think you'll get a chance to make it out next year? :)
Hi VancityAllie: This year's event was pretty interesting, so I will definitely be making the effort to cover GDC again in 2010.
Hey VancityAllie,
I would love to make it out to GDC Canada but since I'm Toronto-based I doubt I'll have the opportunity. I mostly cover events happening in Ontario/Quebec.
We certainly hope to have Clinton attend next year's GDC Canada, look for an official announcement on the site early next year!
